This training is ideal for practitioners who would want to advance their knowledge and skills in monitoring, evaluating, reporting and learning in peacebuilding programmes in fragile contexts.
The Course Content
Introduction to monitoring and evaluation from a peacebuilding perspective: This session will cover the following:
- M & E in the peacebuilding practice; what is the crux of the matter?
- Understanding change: Issues, questions and dilemmas in M & E in the peacebuilding practice
- Understanding the results chain
MERL Application in a peacebuilding project: This session will cover MERL aspects from the conception of a peacebuilding project up to the time of project closure
Conceptual M & E Tools in Peacebuilding: This session will cover the following:
- Different contextual analysis tools used in MERL.
- Understanding the Peace Cycle
- Developing an enhanced log-frame for a peacebuilding project
- Understanding a peacebuilding project’s Theory of change
Introduction to peacebuilding project indicators. This session will cover:
- Qualitative and quantitative indicators
- Indicators development protocols
- Aligning project indicators with project results
Developing a learning agenda for peacebuilding programming. This session will cover:
- Intercepts and synergies between Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and learning
- Case studies of successful peacebuilding projects and application of learning in them
MERL tools for Peacebuilding practice. This session will cover:
- Developing a monitoring & evaluation framework
- Developing an evaluation agenda and schedule
- Tools for assessing impact of a peacebuilding project
Data Management in peacebuilding projects. This session will cover:
- Various data collection tools
- Ethical considerations in data collection and management
- Conflict sensitivity in data collection and management
Fee information
Option 1: US$1300 (Covers tuition, resource materials, certificate of participation & full board accommodation from the evening of 7th June upto breakfast on 13th June 2026)
Option 2: $800 (for day scholars & covers day time meals at the training Centre, tuition, resource materials and certificate of participation)
Option 3 charges: US $450: This amount is for those who will opt to join the training via Zoom and the amount covers tuition and a certificate of participation
